OF KARST:
Karst
refers to the pitted surface
over limestone formations
containing networks of underground caverns and tunnels carved out by water. The pits are due to sinkholes that formed when near surface cavern roofs got too thin and collapsed. Thus, karst topography occurs in areas where there is underground rivers and caverns.
