Changes come into our lives, causing us to reflect not only upon who we are, but why we are here, and what we are doing. Sometimes we need to increase our workload in one area, while decreasing it in other areas. Due to changes in Sharon's personal life, work life, and family life, she feels it is time to lay aside those things which would scatter her energies too much so that she can focus on the things which really matter, and will allow her to do more research, writing, and social justice efforts as well as keep those other important aspects of her life in tune and flowing smoothly. .... Sharon Cornet's BIO
I earned
my BA (2010) in Social Science, with a minor in Anthropology from Ashford University, and
hold a Certificate in Applied Anthropology from UTEP (University of Texas at El Paso).
Although I work full time, I also like to keep my skills up to date with projects and
research interests from a wide range of topics. Many of my articles on past homework
assignments and interests can be found on the ARTICLES page #1 (social science and general topics), and ARTICLES page #2 (cryptozoology, spiritual and esoteric, and the
paranormal).
In the
past and sometimes the present, I have worn many different hats, including Researcher/Investigatorwith Saber Enterprises (mid-late
1990's, UFO's and alleged abduction phenomena), Co-facilitator for El Paso MUFON (Mutual UFO Network - 2 yrs in early
2000's, Ufology - I did not join MUFON but my co-facilitator did), West Regional Leader with the TBRC (Texas Bigfoot
Research Conservancy - early-mid 2000's), Independent Researcher and Investigator into Bigfoot (early-2000's to the present),
UFO's (mid-1990's to present), and other topics of the strange and unusual. I have done
public speaking and been on radio, TV, and international television for cryptozoology,
ufology, and solar energy topics. Have also been past Project
Manager (plus many positions on
the Board of Directors)
for EPSEA (El Paso Solar Energy
Association), and have worked as a self-taught Webmaster,
and Office Manager for seven years throughout the 2000's at a
ministry.
Life's
mysteries and peoples' unique experiences, plus spiritual phenomena, different belief
systems, and personal stories have been a fascinating and continuing interest in my life
and work for decades, mostly because of my own unusual experiences that did not fit with
the belief system I was raised under. I have seen UFO's (with witnesses), had premonitions
and dreams that come true, have had unexplainable experiences, and still manage to keep my
feet (and head) on solid ground. I am a "sensitive" in many ways - emotive and
otherwise, and feel things deeply, sometimes to the extent of my own detriment. In my
search for answers I have branched out and turned over every rock in my path on this
journey and quest. Sometimes there is no quest, and I just rest in "being." I am
adept at understanding people, having keen insight, and picking out details others may
miss. My specialty, which I attribute to my Charismatic-type Christian upbringing of being
taught to compare spiritual and inner meaning symbologies with physical and outer
occurrences, has created and formed a perspective into standing in a unique place in this
world. Outside of that mindset, I see core shamanism as the only universal religion (an
anthropological phenomenon), which is especially interesting - and likely built into human
DNA - because it crosses all boundaries of gender, race or ethnicity, socioeconomic
status, age, geographic, and other areas and yet still has common features within human
consciousness that are expressed similarly no matter what religion people claim to have.
Although
I do not typically "do" weddings or other ceremonies or funerals, I am ordained
with ULC Seminary (Universal Life Seminary church) as an interfaith minister and officiated my first wedding ceremony on
April 30, 2011. Historically, I am a member of the UU church (Unitarian Universalist) and am both open to
many religious beliefs, while personally having shed many of the beliefs I grew up with,
so that my view today is more syncretic, agnostic, and esoteric, while still adhering to a
strong scientific basis for things as important as how "beliefs" go. In fact,
the very word "belief" is not a word I typically even use in my daily lexicon.
For instance, I am both fascinated and disgusted with the fact that - according to the Gallup Poll - 40% of
Americans believe that the earth is young (6-10K yrs old) instead of what the geologic and
fossil record shows (anyone willing to hire me to do a study on this topic is
something I would JUMP at!). Yet am equally interested in archaeoastronomy and
ethnoastronomy, the pre-history of astrological beliefs, and how they have formed today's
belief systems in circles pertaining to astrology and horoscopes. Just as when one has to
suspend judgment to enjoy a good fictional book or movie, my training in social science
has also tugged my ear toward learning to listen to peoples' strange and paranormal or
astrologically-related experiences with an open mind, taking everything into account, and
searching for patterns prior to letting the judgments fall where they may, in order to
dicipher and sort through the enormous amount of data that exists on these topics. This is
inductive (vs. deductive) learning and is merely a style, but not necessarily a preference
all of the time. I have a strong philosophy on balance, and staying objective, and
learning new things without "belief" needing to be a part of it. I have learned
some basics on making natal charts and feel that it is more of an art than it is a
science, but understand how it can be used as a tool to pull more right-hemisphere
information from the brain to find the same answers intuitively, which more formal
research and left-hemisphere data crunching could do from a different perspective.
Basically finding the same answers in a different way. Sometimes it depends on whether a
person is more kinesthetic or viso-spatial, or auditory (digital or tonal), right or left
brained, etc., as to what works best for them.
I also enjoy investigating and analyzing topics that are far more serious than the realm of the religious, or spiritual. I have a strong bent towards social justice issues and anti-corruption within the Criminal "Justice" (CJ) system, especially since my family was once the brunt of such heinous crimes in Texas. Am also familiar with how some researchers into the paranormal (ufology in particular) - who do public speaking on the subject - wind up either dead or damaged by "higher authorities" in this and other countries. Ironically, I had a strong premonition two years before this CJ event happened to my family, although the information that I knew would happen was highly veiled and limited to knowing only that a knowledge of a handful of people (strangers) who were in positions of power and would decide her family's fate (people I had not yet met); "Something bad is going to happen," I told my husband at the time, but didn't know what until hindsight proved it out that these individuals would work together, each doing their part, to produce the end result that I had foreseen. There was no stopping it, just as there is no one person (or many people) who can put their arms out to try to stop a tsunami from doing damage along an entire coastline. Hence, after the damage was done (yes, amazingly it officially hit us on the Biblically relevant date of 06/06/06 (666 - the number of man, the beast-ly nature of mankind), and continues to this day. So I finally finished my degree, and then moved in summer of 2010 to Washington state to start a new life with two of my three children. This experience changed me forever and gave me a unique position and perspective of how the CJ system really works, and why ethnocentric biases, along with enculturated views - due to the media and other forms of prejudices that purposefully leak through to the masses - shape our nations expectations and core belief systems about taboo topics such as sex, crimes, and punishment of not just individuals, but whole families and groups of people. The social networks and social connections between those in the CJ system and the people it directly (and indirectly) affects negatively is vast.
Ultimately that legal case destroyed my family, my husband's and my relationship (I am now separated from him in every possible way), and nearly destroyed me permanently. Healing has taken time, and continues... For now, I am writing my book on my family's experience, but as a roman a clef fictional novel (inspired by true events) since I was unable to help correct the untouchable legal problems (it will probably always seem as on-going - a past accounting from 2009 of the crimes done against my family by those in the CJ system can be found here), and is also picking up writing a children's book on the faerie realm that I started years ago and would like to finish.
My resume/CV is here.
I am the INFJ personality type
