CompTIA PDI+ Certification Exam

The PD0-001 CompTIA PDI+ certification exam is an entry level certification exam. This certification exam is designed to test a candidate's understanding of installation and maintenance skills. These skills include the ability to work with printers, fax machines, copiers, scanners, and other types of related equipment. Passing this certification exam demonstrates that a candidate has the knowledge needed for tasks relating to electromechanical components, electromechanical tools, print engine components, scan processes, connectivity concepts, networking, and color theory. The PD0-001 exam also covers safety, the environment, customer service, and professionalism.

There are no required prerequisites that candidates must complete prior to taking the PD0-001 exam. However, candidates are encouraged to have a foundational level of knowledge or previous hands-on experience in working with printing devices and document imaging devices. It’s also recommended that the candidates take the practice exams from TestsForge before the real exams. The exam contains 85 questions and must be completed within 90 minutes. The exam has a possible score scale of 100 to 900, and candidates must earn at least 675 in order to pass. The PD0-001 exam may be taken in English, German, Japanese, or Spanish.

Taking the PD0-001 certification exam allows candidates to complete a vendor-neutral certification exam that is recognized by companies such as Xerox, Sharp, and Canon. The PD0-001 certification exam is also a stepping stone towards OEM training for the authorization on certain devices. After passing the PD0-001 certification exam, candidates may be qualified to work as customer service technicians, service center technicians, field service technicians, and help desk technicians.
